I recently fell in love with Duplekita, an Edmonton based band, and their new album The Sound of My Name. Spearheaded by Tim Batke (formerly of Faunts), the album is a collaboration of 14+ musicians who contributed to the making of this wonderful body of music over the past three years. Batke certainly did not hesitate to experiment with various genres, resulting in an album that’s, simply put, a breath of fresh air. If Bon Iver and The Mercury Program had an intimate session, this would be their love child. Take a listen to the album in its entirety below — I personally can’t recommend it enough.
The Sound of My Name is out now on Kinsella Recordings.
